INDEPENDENCE DAY - FREEDOM FROM WITHIN

'15th August 1947', on hearing this date itself, several emotions rush through our minds,
Admiration for the valiant freedom fighters,
Sorrow for their loss,
Respect for their sacrifices,
And unconditional love for our country.
On this venerable occasion of the 69th Independence Day celebration, the students of Chinmaya Vidyalaya displayed their patriotism with total fervor. Depicting the spirit of nationalism, the children portrayed their talents in dance, drama, musical instruments and singing by glorifying their motherland and paying a tribute to her. It was a brilliant ensemble brought together by the social science faculty of our school. The Art & Craft Department put together the lively props to make it a complete pleasure to view. The Story of revered Swami Chinmayananda was enacted to show his contribution in the struggle of freedom.
A scintillating speech was given by the Chief Guest Mr. Rajeev Mechuri the Counsel of Ireland. He inspired young minds to take on the world but with a sense of pride for our country.
The influence of the West seems to threaten the very roots of our culture. But programmes like this, when staged occasionally revive that every Indian has great inner strength. India’s wealth and potential is understood by us and the children.

We were asked to carry a sapling or a plant per cadet to the temple as we were going to have tree plantation around the temple. By the time we had returned we had almost planted close to 40 plants as we had also planted many plants that were there as a helping hand to the people in that area. Firstly we would like to thank the Commanding Officer Colonel V.M.Naik and other officers including Chief Officer Unnikrishnan.K.R to make this possible and as inspiring and hardworking as possible.
